The Republic’s Divers added their names to the country’s overall medal tally as the final aquatic discipline of this Southeast Asian Competition kicked off today at the Sports Hub’s OCBC Aquatic Centre today.
It was movement in harmony as Singapore bagged its first regional synchronised swimming gold medal in the Team Technical Routine Final this afternoon.

Roanne Ho and Samantha Yeo both raced home to clinch gold and silver respectively for Singapore in the Women’s 50metre Breaststroke final at the TYR 2nd Southeast Asian Swimming Championships 2014. Thailand’s Pawapotako Phiangkhwan took the bronze medal.
17-year-old Vietnamese Nguyen Thi Anh Vien shaved off almost 12 seconds from the meet record in the Women’s 800metres Freestyle event. The most be-medalled swimmer of the recent Southeast Asian Age Swimming Championships earlier this month, Thi Anh cruised home to the gold medal effortlessly in a new time of 8:40.75.

With two Thai girls blazing down on each side of her, Amanda Lim kept her cool to race home first and give Singapore its first gold medal of the evening in the Women’s 200metres Freestyle at the TYR 2nd Southeast Asian Swimming Championships presented by Yakult.
The Men’s Relay Team of Clement Yong, Darren Lim, Benedict Boon and Danny Yeo finished the night off in style giving Singapore a gold medal in the final event for the night, the Men’s 4x100m Freestyle Relay.
